The woman had ordered fruits and vegetables worth ₹450, which were delivered within 10 minutes. However, she found the items to be rotten. Wanting a refund, she searched for Blinkit customer care contact on Google instead of using the official app support.
The number she found was fake and belonged to scammers. When she called, a man posing as a customer care executive assured her that she would get her refund. He sent her a link and asked her to enter her personal and banking details. Soon after, ₹79,208 was deducted from her bank account.
Realizing she had been cheated, the woman immediately approached the police and filed a complaint. Vishrambaug Police have registered a case and are working to identify and trace the accused.
Authorities have urged citizens to avoid searching customer care numbers online and to use only official app support to prevent such frauds.
