Uttarakhand STF Arrests Three for Sending Youths to Myanmar for Cybercrime

The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested three individuals for allegedly trafficking youths to Myanmar through Thailand to work in cybercrime operations. The accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar of Jaspur and Nirav Chaudhary and Pradeep of Kashipur, all from Udham Singh Nagar district.

Their names surfaced during the interrogation of nine youths from Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar, who were recently repatriated from KK Park in Myawaddy, Myanmar. These youths, along with several others from different states, had been living illegally in the area before being brought back to India and reunited with their families.

According to the STF, Indian agents allegedly lured victims through personal contact and mobile applications such as Telegram and WhatsApp. They reportedly took large sums of money, sent the victims abroad on Thai visas, and then illegally pushed them into Myanmar.

Preliminary investigations indicate a well-organised network involved in trafficking and extortion. STF Assistant Superintendent of Police Kush Mishra said more arrests are likely as the probe continues.
