According to the complaint filed by Najaf, son of Qadeer Khan and a resident of Siraulikalan, his fiancée Nurain, daughter of Afsar Ahmad from Baheri, was looking for a work-from-home job on the internet. On November 3, she received a call from a woman named Lakshmi Kumari, who claimed to be an HR assistant from a corporate office.
Nurain spoke to her and agreed to the job offer. She was then asked to perform tasks on a website suggested by Lakshmi Kumari. Najaf provided his bank account details for the transactions.
After completing a few tasks, Nurain received ₹310. In another task, she deposited ₹800 and got ₹1,000 back. This made the couple believe the job offer was genuine.
However, the fraudsters then trapped them by promising higher profits. Over the next two days, they allegedly withdrew a total of ₹1.93 lakh from Najaf’s bank account.
The police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
