Pokhran Youth Held in Nagpur Cyber Fraud Case; Three Accomplices on the Run

Jaisalmer: A youth from Pokhran town was arrested on Thursday by a cybercrime team from Sadar Police Station, Nagpur, Maharashtra, in connection with a major online fraud case involving crores of rupees.

Acting on a tip-off, the Nagpur police team reached Pokhran early in the morning and coordinated with local authorities to apprehend four suspects allegedly linked to the fraud. The accused were reportedly expected to appear at the local court for a hearing.

As police teams intensified surveillance around the court premises, the suspects attempted to flee upon spotting the officers. A brief chase ensued through the town’s main intersection, during which police managed to arrest Ajay Vishnoi, a resident of Khetolai village. His three associates — Manish from Dholiya, Anil from Jaluwala, and Sunil — managed to escape despite a pursuit that extended up to Jainarayan Vyas Circle.

Pokhran Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhawani Singh confirmed that Ajay was presented in the local court and handed over to Nagpur police on transit remand.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Ajay and his associates were operating an online fraud racket, deceiving people by offering fake online tasks and siphoning off large sums of money.

Police teams are continuing search operations in and around Pokhran to locate the absconding accused. The investigation has been intensified to trace the money trail and dismantle the wider network involved in the scam.

The arrest underscores the growing threat of cybercrime and highlights the importance of inter-state coordination between police forces to combat such offenses effectively.
