Hyderabad woman blackmailed with morphed videos, loses ₹1.45 lakh to cyber fraudsters

A 26-year-old woman from Gowliguda has fallen victim to cyber fraud after being blackmailed with morphed pornographic videos. The Hyderabad Cybercrime Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

According to the complaint, the woman received a WhatsApp message on October 10 claiming she had an unpaid loan of ₹7,000. She denied taking any loan, but the fraudsters kept pressuring her to pay. Out of fear, she eventually transferred the amount.

Later, the scammers contacted her again from a different number and sent her morphed obscene videos, threatening to post them on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram unless she paid more money. Under continuous harassment, she ended up transferring a total of ₹1.45 lakh.

When the threats continued, she confided in her family and lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police. Officials have begun tracing the suspects behind the fraud.
